Ningaloo Reef

Ningaloo ReefFrom both Coral Bay and Exmouth you can experience the wonders of the fascinating Ningaloo Marine Park which stretches for 260km along the Gascoyne coastline. The Ningaloo Coral Reef is the largest coral reef in Western Australia and at some places comes within metres of the beach, making it quite different from anything anywhere else in Australia. It is home to about 500 species of fish and 220 species of coral.

Divers from around the world are being attracted to dive on the Ningaloo Reef and a wide range of diving and snorkelling opportunities are provided for both beginners and the more experienced underwater explorers.

The mass spawning of more than 200 species of coral in March and April is part of a chain of biological events that heralds the arrival in the Ningaloo Marine Park of the world's largest fish, the whale shark. Ningaloo Reef is the only place in the world where whale sharks are known to appear regularly, in any numbers, in near-shore waters and easily accessible to observers.
