Talbot
One of Victoria's earliest gold town, located approximately 15 minutes from Clunes is Talbot. Steeped in history, the town's unique character remains almost as it was during the bustling days of the 1850s. The Museum which is open weekends houses an impressive collection of memorabilia and is an excellent example of Talbot's historic architecture. A living ghost town, Talbot has a fine antique shop, one of Australia's top country restaurants, a real country pub and wonderful bluestone buildings. Comfortable B & Bs and host farms offer country hospitality in the region.
