Kilmore
The north-eatern gateway to Macedon and the Spa Country, Kilmore is overflowing with history. Whitbourgh Cottage for example, built by Scottish blacksmith William Smeaton in 1857, was occupied by his family for 113 years and still contains original furniture.
The heart of thoroughbred country, Kilmore is home to a horseshoe factory, established in 1960, and a horse-racing complex; don't miss the Harness and Turf Club's exciting Autumn Carnival events.
Historical bluestone buildings line the streets, many now welcome shoppers, diners and overnight guests. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon ride through Hudson Park in the old cable tram, or travel out to Dreamtime Emu Farm for rambling country walks, horse rides and plenty of energetic activities.
