Cradle Mountain National Park Day Tour

Enjoy a visit to the town of Sheffield - the town of murals - where artists have depicted the history of the area onto murals throughout the town's buildings, walls and fences. Explore Sheffield for approximately 20 minutes and stop for morning tea, where you can purchase some goodies from the local bakery.

Go Deep into the Tasmanian forest and experience the solitary wilderness of waterfalls, glacier lakes, rainforest, wildlife and unsurpassed beauty of the World Heritage listed National Park. Discover many walks throughout the rainforest - catch your breath as you first glimpse the craggy outcrop of majestic Cradle Mountain towering above the sparkling Dove Lake plateau.

There are many walks for you to choose from departing from the Cradle Mountain Interpretation Centre. One is on a raised boardwalk from the center and takes only 5 minutes: another is a walk to Gustaf Windorfer's restored mountain hut, which takes approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, walk around Dove Lake for a spectacular view of Cradle Mountain itself.

Departing Cradle Mountain, view the giant water catchment gorge - a Hydro Tasmania project and then stop for afternoon tea/coffee in a picnic bushland setting before heading back into Launceston.

Starting from $151.66 per person
