Brisbane's Parks and Wildlife
Visit the Mt Coot-tha Lookout and take in the sweeping panoramas of the city or explore the beautiful Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. The riverbanks of Brisbane are the province for walkers, joggers and cyclists with tracks that weave along the shoreline, through the city Botanical Gardens and onto boardwalks into the city heart.
Wildlife parks such as Alma Park Zoo (Kallangur), Lone Pine Sanctuary (Fig Tree Pocket) and Gondwana Wildlife Sanctuary (South Bank) offer the chance to view Australian fauna in natural surroundings. Lone Pine Sanctuary is the world's largest koala sanctuary but is also home to kangaroos, emus and native birds. Gondwana features over 700 native Australian animals and plants including snakes, possums and many more.
