The Tennant Creek Region is not known as the Heart of Gold for nothing. Its people are warm and friendly and welcoming. In the region you can meet the locals at rugby, baseball, softball, tennis, bowls, Aussie Rules or netball. There's squash, horseriding, speedway, go-kart racing, golf, swimming, 8-ball and darts.
You can camp, or stay in comfort at caravan parks, backpackers or well appointed motels and self-contained accommodation. You can come by air or road. Take guided tours, use your own car, hire a four wheel drive, hire a bike, take a horse ride or just walk.
It really doesn't matter how you get here or how you explore. What does matter is that you enjoy your stay here, have fun and relax while you look around and experience the outback adventure, extraordinary history and diverse cultures.
