They are proud of their town which is the only original mining town from the gold rush days of the 1870s. Today the town boasts a growing number of visitors and provides a supermarket, fuel/repairs outlet, hotels, motels, restaurant, caravan and camping park, homemade food, local tour operators, scenic flights and a post office, catering to your every need. Pine Creek offers swimming, sightseeing, fishing, hunting, gold panning, horseriding, bushwalking and fossicking.

The Umbrawarra Gorge Nature Park nearby, is a must for the visitor and is a naturalists delight. Situated in the centre of town, the Mine Lookout gives panoramic views of the open cut mine and Miners Park, a bicentennial project, contains historic mining machinery, photos and history.

The Copperfield Recreation Reserve has a deep lake for swimming, shade areas and is an ideal place for the visitor to take a break. The Pine Creek National Trust Museum offers various displays which include mining and gemstone collections and Chinese and Aboriginal history. Other features include the Railway Station Museum, Steam Engine Carriage and Grove Hill Historic Licenced Hotel. And finally, in the centre of the township, you'll find the delightful Water Gardens with tropical gardens, ponds and shaded picnic tables.
