The suburbs of Sydney
Each suburb of Sydney has its own unique attractions and actvities to tempt the visitor. The eastern suburbs are steeped in history and also feature the famous Kings Cross, charming Paddington and Bondi, Sydney's best known beach. There are ferry's, restaurants and cliff tops walks also on offer here.
Manly to the north is very popular for visitors with its cosmopolitan atmosphere which features fine restaurants, shopping, beaches, coves and inlets, a huge wharf, Oceanworld and superb resort accommodation. Further north are a series of ideal swimming and surfing beaches including Narrabeen and the scenic Palm Beach.
To the south lie historic Botany Bay, a number of fine beaches, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire with its magnificent waterways, recreation areas and restful national parks. The Cronulla Peninsula is a favourite destination for tourists whilst the region also boasts numerous sporting venues and annual festivals.
Sydney's western suburbs incorporates a number of historic and enjoyable destinations including Parramatta, Camden Town, Belgenny Farm, the birthplace of Australia's agriculture, and Penrith to name just a few. Parramatta boasts a large number of historic buildings, a museum, theatres, a racecourse, festivals and terrific shopping opportunities. Camden town is a rural hinterland rich in history and for fun and excitement, Penrith is the place to be with the Panthers Club, the largest of its kind in the world, the ever popular Penrith markets, Sydney International Regatta Centre, venue for the 2000 Olympic Games, and so much more.
