Jindabyne
During the 1960s, the damming of Lake Jindabyne as a result of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme drowned most of the original township of Jindabyne. A few houses were moved and the inhabitants relocated to the site of the new town as it stands today.
Located on the Koscuisko Road, Jindabyne is an ideal base for exploring the magnificent Snowy Mountains and features a sports complex, adventure centre, holiday park and the Snowy Mountains Reservation Centre which caters for every accomodation need and offers a variety of packages. Lake Jindabyne offers trout fishing, aquatic sports and cruises and be sure to visit the Gaden Trout Hatchery and Kokoda Memorial.
