Travelling inland along the Bega River, the road ambles through rich dairy and beef country passing the historic pastoral estate of Kameruka and arriving at the delightful village of Candelo. With all its country charms, Candelo was established 150 years ago and retains the peaceful village image and atmosphere. Candelo maintains many of its nineteenth century buildings, offering a warm reception to travellers to share in the every day lives of the townsfolk
The road through Candelo leads to Wolumla and Wyndham to the south and Bemboka, the Monaro and the Mountains to the north. The picturesque backdrop of Bemboka National Park towers over Bemboka townswhip and the scenic views of the whole Sapphire Coast from Pipers Lookout are quite spectacular.
