Dorrigo

DorrigoDorrigo stands as the gateway to the impressive Dorrigo National Park which is one of Australia's most accessible rainforest areas. In 1986 it was included on the World Heritage List to ensure the preservation of its biological diversity. Breathtaking views of the valley from exceptional viewing vantage points can be experienced in this wilderness wonderland of tall forests and waterfalls. The impressive Skywalk and Walk with Birds have been designed for easy access and the Never Never and the Glade Picnic Areas are ideal for the family get-together.

Dangar Falls and Griffiths Lookout are a must for the visitor. The Falls offer a sealed walking path and viewing platform and the Lookout provides stunning views over the escarpment. The Moonpar Forest Drive is one of the most spectacular through a recreational forest in New South Wales and Platypus Flat is a favourite for camping and picnicking.

Dorrigo is an quaint country town rich in the history of a bygone era. Many of the older buildings are being refurbished and restored to their original appearance and the town boasts a rare wood fired oven bakery. As well as stunning forest, Dorrigo is the home of excellent arts and crafts some of which can be found at the Art Place Gallery and is also renowned for its warm friendly mountain hospitality.
