The nearby Boambee Creek Reserve is ideal for family picnics, swimming, canoeing, fishing and surfing and a drive to the scenic Boambee Lookout will reward the visitor with stunning views of the coastline

Sawtell features a charming village atmosphere with antique shops, a Village Street Market and RSL Club. Popular actvities include fishing, swimming, surfing, tennis and squash and the town also has an indoor pool facility.

The sleepy little village of Mylestom is another popular fishing and surfing destination along this magnificent coastline. South of Mylestom is the pretty seaside township of Urunga which boasts a shopping centre, motels and tourist parks, restaurants and The Honey Place which offers visitors local arts and crafts and a magnificent collection of dolls. Lush farmland surrounds the town where the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers meet before entering the Pacific Ocean. Urunga is well known for its sea lido and footbridge across the Urunga lagoon to the river mouth and unspoilt beaches. As well, several picnic spots can be found along the Morgo Street Reserve.
