Once in a while you chance upon the perfect holiday destination. The chance to relax in serene, peaceful surroundings... The chance to breathe in the beauty of natural bushland and the magnificent Margaret River winter waterfalls... The chance to luxuriate in a superbly finished and very private cottage.
Waterfall Cottages is a private retreat located on the banks of the Margaret River in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region. Designed by award winning architect Brian Klopper, each cottage features signature stained glass windows as well as wall to ceiling glass around two sides to take advantage of the stunning views. Other features include high cathedral limewashed ceilings, steel frames, central bush poles and large verandahs with suspended roofs. Each cottage is fully self-contained with private parking and all the added extras to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
The cottages are set amidst 15 acres of magnificent landscaped gardens facing the beautiful Yalgardup Falls and the property has been featured in the Open Garden Scheme. We are surrounded by the natural forest of the River Valley, with our own private lake fed by Yalgardup Creek, and there are extensive lawn areas ideally suited to group activities, as well as secluded areas for birdwatching, picnics etc.
Guests can also feed the ducks, play with our 2 pet kangaroos, or go night spotting for possums in the Peppermint and Karri trees.
The 11 cottages have been very carefully situated around the property to create the feeling of seclusion in your own private estate and to maximize the water and garden views. Our office is around the corner in the family home, so as not to intrude on the tranquility of the area and can be accessed via a picturesque stroll over the 'Monet' Bridge, or by road.
As a small family owned and operated business we like to think we have found the perfect balance between providing a personalized service for our guests while ensuring your privacy. We are of course available at all times in an emergency.
Waterfall Cottages offer the ideal year-round location for exploration and relaxation. In Winter, toast yourself in the warmth of a slow combustion fire, or on a clear day, take in the sweeping views of the forest, gardens and lake. Wake to the melodic sounds of the waterfall bubbling by.
In Spring take a bushwalk, breathe in the crisp country air, and discover the first wildflowers or marvel at the lamprey eels as they make their way upstream.
Summer and Autumn are perfect for exploring the river or relaxing peacefully in the gardens or on the rolling lawns lakeside.
Our secluded cottages cater for anyone with a penchant for spoiling themselves; from singles, to romantic couples, to families of up to six.
We also welcome groups for weddings and other functions as long as you book out the cottages for a minimum of 2 nights.
