Unspoilt coastal park accommodation...
Welcome to Durras North - one of those "secret" south coast places you sometimes hear about.
It is no secret what you can do here though. Swim, fish, bushwalk, surf, coastwalk, relax, birdwatch.....whew!
Located in the heart of the Murramarang National Park and Batemans Marine Park, Durras North is the perfect choice for your holiday. The pristine Durras Lake and Durras beach are just a short stroll away.
Accommodation offered includes traditional "retro" cottages, park cabins or camping in the "Durras Beach Camping Ground." This park has been kept the way holidays used to be. Relaxed and friendly.
Enjoy your holiday in a stunning natural environment, where kangaroos are guaranteed to be seen. In addition, there are possums, parrots, lizards, bandicoots, marine life and the magnificent bush of the surrounding national park. Pebbly Beach is just a 10 minute drive away and Batemans Bay is 20 minutes.
But remember, once you have discovered Durras North, you may want to keep it a secret!
COTTAGES:
The four "retro" cottages were built around 40 years ago to accommodate people wanting to escape the "big towns". Externally the cottages look much the same as when they were first built. (Though the colours have been brightened up.) It's a wonder they are not heritage listed! Internally they are very comfy with television, DVD players, microwave, full kitchen, heater and fans. Each cottage has a deck where you can sit and watch the kangaroos graze. Basic wood fired barbecues are provided. King Parrot sleeps up to 8. Kookaburra up to 7. Lorikeet & Rosella, 6.
CABINS:
The four cabins are your traditional caravan park cabins. (Not caravans.) They offer budget accommodation and all have covered decks to enjoy the outdoors. Basic wood fired barbecues are provided. Pelican and Penguin cabins are the largest with bush views. They sleep up to 5 persons. Bathroom and shower. Dolphin cabin sleeps up to 4 with a bathroom and shower. Possum cabin sleeps up to 4. Very comfy. For the toilet and shower, you use the modern amenities block with hot showers approximately 30m away.
CAMPING
The Durras Beach Camping Ground is located at the rear of the park. Very popular with overseas visitors as well as locals. (Also popular with the kangaroos, possums, birds and goannas!) All the sites are spacious and have basic wood fired barbecues. Most are on a terraced hillside surrounded by the bush of the Murramarang National Park. Towering spotted gum trees provide shade over the majority of sites. It is a short uphill walk to the modern amenities block with hot showers. Some sites are powered and a couple are suitable for caravans closer to the amenities block. The beach and lake are around a 6 minute walk away whilst excellent bushwalks start just a few metres from the camping ground.
